Boyer Metal takes the "LEED" in quality
Boyer Metal's shop is quietly tucked away behind Flagstaff Athletic Club in Flagstaff, AZ and has been there since 1974. The company has been in Flagstaff since 1951. Although they are well known as Flagstaff's Lennox dealer; installing thousands of heating and cooling systems for residential use, in-floor heating, even snow melt systems for driveways; there is another side to Boyer Metal that not everyone is aware of.
Boyer Metal has had a hand in many of the large-scale commercial buildings you see every day. In addition to winning the duct fabrication contracts for the recently built Phoenix Coyotes stadium and Lake Pleasant Water Treatment plant, Boyer Metal is especially proud of a project in which they are currently involved on the Northern Arizona University campus. The NAU ARD building is one of only 12 Platinum "LEED" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) buildings in the world. LEED's Green Building is the use of design and building practices that engender sustainable site planning and indoor environmental quality, as well as conservation and efficient use of water, energy, and resources. The result is buildings that have a positive impact on occupants, cost less to operate and are environmentally friendly. LEEDS Platinum Buildings have to meet the most stringent guidelines of all LEEDS building categories. In addition, Boyer Metal recently completed the HVAC system for the NAU CENS building, which was awarded a Silver LEED designation.
But there is more to the Boyer story. Boyer Metal was founded in 1951 by Charles Boyer and has remained in the family. The company is currently owned and run by brothers Ron and Brian Boyer. The business has seen its ups and downs in its 55 years in business, but no one can argue the fact it has stood the test of time and has always provided a quality product for both its residential and commercial clientele. What has made Boyer Metal successful is not only their attention to detail and quality, but also their willingness to stand behind their work and warranties.
As a community partner, the Boyers and their key people have always been involved as supporters of organizations like the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, Northern Arizona Home Builders, Flagstaff Ski Team, Flagstaff Professional Referral Group, American Cancer Society and many others. In addition to their emphasis on community participation, they have contributed much to the economy by providing many good paying, skilled jobs in Flagstaff.
