Anthem Teen is awarded with J.B. Rodgers Endowed Scholarship
SMACNA Arizona, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association’s Arizona chapter, has announced that Anthems Dylan Hendrix, a recent graduate of Boulder Creek High School, has received the J.B. Rodgers Endowed Scholarship.
To qualify for the scholarship, which is for $3,000 per academic year and named for long-time SMACNA and business leader J.B. Rodgers, students must have a relative who is a SMACNA member and show both a commitment to post-secondary education as well as dedication to ones high school endeavors.
Hendrix is enrolled at Arizona State University and plans to study engineering. He graduated from Boulder Creek with a 4.2 grade point average, was a member of the National Honor Society and was in the top 10 percent of his class. During his senior year, he started 10 games as pitcher for the baseball team, posting a 6-5 record while leading the team in innings pitched and complete games. He also had a .341 batting average and was third on the team with 29 hits. He was selected to play on the Arizona Baseball Coaches Associations Academic All Star Team.
Dylan is the son of Allen and Renee Hendrix. Allen serves on the board of directors for Able Balance AZ, a SMACNA Arizona contractor, and is also a trustee for SMACNA Arizona.
